So far I found only one, from Douglas Electronics Inc, called DesignWorks. Does anyone has experience with either their 'Pro' or 'Entry-level' versions? Any other information, links to other software, etc that could be relevant? I'm only working on small scale projects, so I don't need 'full fledged industrial strenght' software. Thanks for your time. arthur BTW: I've cross-posted this message to the mc68hc11 and the robot-board mailing lists. _______________ Arthur Elsenaar _______________ Date: 6 Nov 1996 From: Todd Morton To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: Re: Mac based PCB software? I have been using the Douglas software for ~5years. DesignWorks is the schematic entry part of the Professional System. In my opinion it's the strongest part and can be purchased seperately from Capilano Computing if you only want schmatic capture/digital simulation. Or, if you plan on using a different layout program. I make student trainers for the m68hc11f1 and the Zilog 85C30. They are four layer boards, and the quality from Douglas seems very good. I think their prices are higher but, you get good support from schematic capture all the way through board production. I have a review of the two main packages for the Mac (Douglas and Vamp) at: http://torgo.astro.ucla.edu/pcbcad.html The review needs to be updated (to reflect some of the responses I've gotten) but in general, for a small lab or shop, Douglas is the better choice.
